Deep thoughts on the Egged bus ride back from swim class at the YMCA

Hannah: When are we going to be home?

Hilary: Oh, we’ll be there in about 5 minutes.

Hannah: No, not to the Elkins. I mean home to Delaware.

Hilary: Oh. July. What made you think about Delaware?

Hannah: I saw a shadow on the bus window, and it looked like a windmill.

Hilary: Where are there windmills in Delaware? There are a couple in Jerusalem.

Hannah: I don’t know. It made me miss home.

Hilary: Isn’t that funny, how sometimes for reasons you can’t even figure out, you get a feeling of homesickness?

Hannah: Yeah. But next year it will happen about Jerusalem.

Hilary: Right! You’ll see a shape in the St. Andrew’s dining hall, or something, and it will remind you of this home.
